    Description

Early Ford V8 Upper Steering Column Bearing Retrofit Kit for 1932-39 Fords.
    Will also fit 40-48 Fords
with minor modifications (e-mail for details).  Improve steering up to 25% with my unique 2 piece design that eliminates upper shaft friction and wobble.
Replaces Ford B-3517 rubber bushing.  Conceived 36 years ago in 1985, followed by prototype build and extensive testing of the final design, my precision bearing retrofit
is not an adaptation from later Fords
    .
    Quick,
    in car installation
    ,
    retains original appearance
.  CNC machined metal components are manufactured to close tolerances and mated with a precision roller bearing.  Since one of the components of the kit is a sleeve and also the inner race to the roller bearing, it is immaterial if the upper portion of your original steering shaft is worn or rust pitted. Shown in reference to a 33/34 Ford steering column,

    - Cheaper? Yes--but
    rubber construction causes
    extreme friction
and when combined with a rotating steering shaft, the resulting hard steering
    is dangerous.
    Without
continuous lubrication, the rubber bushing will ultimately stick to the steering shaft and both will rotate or lock up within the steering column and could potentially
    cause an accident
.  I have previously sold these kits through advertisement in the
V8 Times-official magazine of the Early Ford V8 Club of America
    and
    Hemmings Motor News
    .
    Detailed
Article with install instructions and photos can be found on page 17 in May/June 2010 issue of V8 times.  See "Power Steering in a '36 Ford" by Ken Bounds, 2012 President of Early Ford V8 Club of America.
Forum discussion about is in Early V8 section of
    Ford Barn.com.
There are literally hundreds of early Ford V8 car owners from all over the world that are satisfied users of my B-3517 retrofit kit.
    Also, can be used in
    Street Rod applications
where additional support for the steering shaft is required at the bottom end of the steering column when shaft is cut to attach to a later model steering system(e-mail for details).
    Note:
Please let me know if the order is for a 40-48 Ford as the pressing diameter is different than a 32-39.
