Description
This is one magnetic template to be used to drill new holes for the Shelby / Arning upper control arm drop for the 1964-1966 Mustang and Falcon. This simple magnetic template lines up your original UCA holes so you can drill your new pilot holes for the 1" drop. The drop actually is about an 1/8" back towards the rear of the car too, so this template makes the job very easy!
Simply put the magnet in place to line up the original bolt holes, put the original bolts in to hold the template extra steady (if you would like, but you can just hold the magnet in place with your hand), and then drill your new pilot holes with a small drill bit. Then drill out the new holes with a 17/32 drill bit. That simple!
You will use the same template for the other side of the car... just flip the template around to have the small pilot holes towards the rear of the car. The original holes are just a little larger than 17/32", and the holes in this template are just about 5/8", so you simply put the magnet template over the old holes, line it up, and then just drill the new little pilot holes. Remove the template and start drilling out the pilot holes up to 17/32". It takes only minutes to do this, and the results look great! This template is even featured on the Speedway Motors website article about the Arning drop.
