Believe it or not, black reservoirs in the smaller sizes are very hard to source. If I had it my way, all my systems would be completely black. That being said, if the white is an issue for you, you can place the system in a black bag. Black spray paint is another option. These are just two simple and cheap ways to turn any reservoir black.
My Micro DWC is small but fully functional and more than capable of growing a medium sized plant to full maturity. Just check out all the pics! These systems are super easy to grow in and maintain. With my micro 64oz or 1/2 gallon reservoir the only drawback is that topping off will become more frequent as the plant and root structure size increase. This is a trade off for taking up much less space than say a 2 gallon bucket. But as you can see in the pictures the micro system is perfectly capable of growing a big plant. At only a little under 7 inches in height and diameter, it performs beyond it's small footprint. Also, the smaller size gives you more room for plants rather than big buckets of water!!
Though the system is capable of growing a bigger plant, my main goal was to create a small system for smaller plants and micro growers. Let's just be real for a second and state the obvious. You are not going to grow a 4 foot massive Tomatoe plant in one of these. I mean you might be able to but that was not what I intended for these micro systems.

2. single 2" net pot with hydroton to fill it
3. 3ft Python air line tubing

5. One 1.5" Rockwool Cube
AIR PUMP IS NOT INCLUDED! YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN AIR PUMP TO OPERATE.
If you're serious about going hydro you will want to invest in some supplies to keep you growing for a while. Things like good nutrients, PH meter and supplies, hydroton and a good air pump. I would recommend an air pump rated for at least a 60 gallon fish tank or 100GPH with multiple outlets.
