Lovely Vintage Madame Alexander Lonely Doll~ 20 Inches Tall!

Dare Wright was a dear friend of mine.  I used to visit her iin her apartment in New York City.  I would always bring her a loaf of my poppy seed bread.  At the time, I was an elementary teacher of second-grade students in Madision, New Jersey.  Each month, I would showcase an author and illustrator of picture books.  Dare Wright was one of those writers and illustrators. One day, I decided to write her a letter about what I was doing in my class about her Edith stories.  The result of our correspondence was an invitation to come to her apartment to talk about Edith and Mr. Bear and Little Bear.  Oh what fun it was to visit and talk with her.  She had even gotten them out of her vault to visit us!  Dare was always kind to give me photographs she had done for the stories.  Over, the years, I gained lots of pictures and many letters of correspondence.  These items are now in the safe hands of the Glenn Horowitz Gallery iin New York City.  I also started to collect the Edith Dolls which Madame Alexander had made.  Now I am selling one of the dolls. Edith is 20 inches tall.  She continues to look lovely.  Her apron has yellow due to age, however, an appropriate washing of it should refresh it.  Her dress is a bit wrinkled because she has been in a sitting position enjoying a room across from the sea along with the other Madame Alexander Edith Dolls.
The elastic is a bit worn in her panties and slip due to age.
