    Description

I'm an Editor - used a Moviscop every day for 20 years.  (Also worked in a Camera Repair Shop.)
I've rebuilt well over 100 Moviscops over the years.  Several years ago - I got a unit with an interesting Halogen Bulb with the same Bayonet mount as on the OSRAM Bulbs.  I set it aside - and used it as a test bulb - for many years.  It just kept going.  So I tried to find a source for them - and couldn't.  I gave up.
Recently I found them - and grabbed them.  The original OSRAM Incandescent bulbs have a projected life of 100 hours.  Usually mine lasted longer - but that is partially dependent on your usage.  If you constantly turn it on and off - they burn out sooner.  Their explanation was that if you took 100 of the bulbs and ran them until they all died - you take the numbers and average them.  OSRAM expected life is between 100 and 200 hours....
In looking it up, I found the Sylvania Halogen Bulbs listed as an expected life of 1000 hours and elsewhere 3000 hours.
    Works for me.
So this bulb is made by Sylvania - manufactured many years ago.  They list it as being used in Theatrical Equipment.  OK.  Now these have the standard single contact Bayonet Base.  And they are rated for 24 Volts/Watts - 1 Amp - same as OSRAM.   Now there is a warning sheet included telling you to NOT TOUCH the Bulb with your fingers.  Oil from your fingers will "Cook" the glass and cause very early failure.  So when you handle it - you leave it IN the plastic bag - or use a cloth or paper towel to handle it.  If you do touch it - you clean the bulb and let it dry before turning it on.  But look at the photos for the important point - The Filaments on the bulbs are at the same positioning as the OSRAMS.  (The photo shows an OSRAM Bulb for reference - there is NOT one included.)  I'm just about out - 5 packages left.
So - I'm going to offer a great deal.  Osrams sell for - each on eBay - when you can get them.  I'm going to sell 2 Halogen Bulbs for .95 including Postage and include a Fuse for the Moviscops.  I'll also throw in a reprint of the Manual, and an article I wrote telling you how to clean the Moviscop without breaking it.
Moviscops come with a Bakelite Film Slide that is a wear part.  You don't remove that plate to clean the movement.  They wear down, but most people who try to clean them - break them.  The 4 screws that hold the Slide in place on the movement
can not be "tightened" without breaking the Film Slide Plate.
You have to barely "snug" the screws with your fingers, then use a drop of nail polish to hold the screw in place.  NEW Replacement Film Slides are not available any longer.   And heaven help you if you completely disassemble the movement.  You'll lose alignment and end up with a frame line in the middle of your image....  Then you are in for an adventure in trial and error.  There is NO easy way to get alignment back - Just Trial & Error and Trial & Error.  Repeat and keep repeating.  (Cursing doesn't help....)
So 2 New (NOS) Halogen bulbs for 16mm & 8mm Moviscop Viewers, a Manual Reprint, a fuse, and an Article on Cleaning - all for .95 post paid.  What a deal?
(If you have a Super-8 Moviscop Viewer - they already come with a 6 volt Halogen Bulb.  The Super-8 Viewers are Black & White with fold out Rewind Arms.  They are excellent - but I've gotten 2 with a missing mirror.  Make sure the listing includes a picture of a REAL frame of film on the screen - not just a "Dot" of light....)
