    This is the latest iteration of SONY's MUSE Decoder used to process Hi-Vision signals encoded from Analog TV, W-VHS and Hi-Vision Laserdiscs from the 90's.
    This is what you need with a Hi-Vision Laserdisc player (such as the HLD-X9) to watch the decoded video over 1080i (technically 1135i) RGB signals.
    This unit is near perfect coming with:
    The

    (needed to change some settings such as the 2ch/4ch/5ch mode for Mode A MUSE titles)
    A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT
    (Hi-Vision Laserdisc release [PILH-1006] -- so you have something to play/decode when you receive the unit)
    Unit looks visually as fresh as sold 25 years ago.
    The metal connectors didn't oxide and are still bright and smooth.
    This is a JAPANESE VOLTAGE ONLY unit, which means you will need to buy a 230 -> 100V (Europe) converter or 120 -> 100V (USA) step-down to make it operate optimally and avoid electrical damage.
    A lot of other sellers of MUSE decoders don't necessarily have the hardware required to test these old consumer technologies. Buy with confidence here.
